yep, few seconds into the 'trailer' and the StarWars is soooo stronk with this one! :> no. way. Aoyama-sensei set Conan's birthday to May The Fourth Be With You!??! :o gah, he's crazy, no. wait. is that Conan's fake birthday or Shinichi's actual birthday?
as to motive? hmm. yeah that's not a weak motive at all.
21:42 mhm. the friend who was driving may have loved her somewhat. but. he also was feeling guilty and sad himself. leaving those tickets at the site of the accident is a pretty common event in Japan. especially for vehicular deaths. well, leaving a flower or a small offering of remembrance is normal. so normal that some memorials have to be periodically removed by the local government because they block traffic and can distract drivers. the offerings are usually something special to the deceased that you shared with them, a favorite food, a movie, a picture of your trip somewhere together, pictures of your kids... stuff like that is very Shinto/Buddhist.
this is the country that has the Bon Festival, a huge weeklong Summer celebration where folks' dead relatives etc. come back and visit for a week and then return to the afterlife.
their family shrines at home are very special to them too. praying to dead relatives and loved ones is pretty normal. of course there's pictures of those loved ones in the shrine. but. some families keep ashes out of the crematorium in the open urn at their family shrine. u know the one, it's where everyone puts the sticks of incense in the urn and lights them? mhm that's incense ash sometimes mixed with people.
of course there's the ceremonial washing of the gravestone. most recent death in that family anniversary of passing over a specific set interval of years. i forget the interval. but every bla bla bla years the family goes to that grave, washes the stone with clean clear spring water, or tap water out of a bottle, whatever's available, you leave incense again, another offering, flowers etc. sometimes there's certain ceremonial foods, oranges/mandarins and mochi cakes are pretty common graveside food, pray and whatnot... annd suchforth.
they may not be a seriously religious country, but they do think alot of their dead.
I can't handle the change of aspect ratio. I got so used to the 4:3 ones
holy crap, it went widescreen? i didn't even notice! :o thanks for the head's up! :o mhm i got used to the narrow band since starting Conan in March. :o
considering this episode aired October 2006... Conan's seriously LATE to the widescreen format! :o

Damn, it's been 3 years and this guy is still that angry..
Huh, I'm glad this was a would be suicide instead of murder, we don't really get those that often so it's nice to see, and that'd be a pretty week motive for actual murder lol
